Covered Bridge at Yatesville (The Blaine Covered Bridge)
A lost covered bridge existed one quarter mile above Yatesville Kentucky. The bridge crossed Blaine Creek where Morgan Branch enters to the left. The bridge was the location for the US Geological Office doing water studies. A walkboard was constructed inside the bridge at a height to drop the gauge from over the top of the siding and thence into the creek. The date of this study was 1915. Yatesville could have possibly been Prosperity during the 1860's. The lost covered bridge was located off Kentucky Highway 3. The covered bridge was painted red and about five miles northwest of Louisa.
Blaine Covered Bridge was one hundred twenty eight feet long. The truss design was the Howe Truss. Blaine Covered Bridge was probably built around 1900 or a little earlier.
