  • Sherburne Covered Bridge

The Sherburne Covered Bridge crossed the Licking River. The covered bridge was burned by arsonists in 1981. Sherburne Covered Bridge was built in 1867 on Highway 11 on the Bath-Fleming County line. The covered bridge was a dual-span and had a total length of 265 feet. Windows were put in the length of it probably because it was dark. A warning sign at both entrances warned traffic to turn on their lights.

Sherburne Covered Bridge was built on the Howe Truss design. The bridge later reinforced by adding metal posts at each end and suspension cables for strength.
